CLAY-COLOURED WEEVIL,
Otiorynchus
singularis (L.)
Clay-coloured weevils are intermediate
in size between strawberry and black vine weevils, and have a mottled,
clay-coloured exterior that may look black when wet. Because the life cycle
of clay-coloured weevil precedes the other two species, larvae would likely
be detected in early to mid-summer in cranberry beds. Refer to the section
"KEY PESTS: DORMANT TO PRE-BLOOM" for more
information.
