Cutleaf blackberry: A perennial shrub with trailing stems up to 10 m long. The leaves are evergreen with 5 or 3 leaflets. The leaflets are deeply divided into secondary leaflets which are deeply and coarsely toothed with no hairs above and softly hairy below. Stems contained flattened prickles which are hooked backwards. In early summer, pinkish or white flowers with 5 petals appear. Each petal has 3 lobes and is 9-14 mm long. The fruit is a round, 1-1.5 cm thick blackberry.
Often forming dense, impenetrable thickets if not managed in early stages. |
