Cloudberry: An essentially herbaceous plant that spreads extensively by creeping rhizomes. Its upright branches are 10-30 cm high with 1-3 leaves per branch. The leaves are leathery, 5(sometimes 7) lobed, round to bean shaped with the leaf edge toothed. The largest leaves are 4-9 cm wide. Flowers are solitary at the end of the flowering stem. The five, white petals are wide, spreading, oval, and 2-3 cm wide. The 1.5-2 cm wide fruit is red at first, then amber, and finally yellow and soft. The plants flower from June to July and are native to northern Europe and North America.
