Western St. John's wort Western St. John's wort: A perennial herb with widespread slender stolons and rhizomes. The erect stems are 5-80 cm tall, with or without branches. The leaves are 1-3 cm long and when held to the light the leaf blades appear to have numerous, tiny holes. The flowers are pale to bright yellow and have 5 (sometimes 4) petals with 8-10 mm long. The seeds are about 0.8 mm long and are yellow to brownish in colour. The plants flower from June to September and are native to British Columbia.
